Get clean mileage records without guesswork.
Start here for setup, drive detection, trip review, reports, subscriptions, and privacy basics.
Getting started
Create an account, start the trial, and allow location access when prompted. Trovu needs background location permission to detect drives while the app is not open.
- Sign in or create an account.
- Choose the mileage profile that matches how you track deductions.
- Enable location and notifications so drive status is visible.
Automatic tracking
When tracking is active, Trovu listens for drive-like movement and creates a trip draft. You can also start a trip manually from the app if automatic detection misses a drive.
Live status cards and notifications help confirm that tracking is running, but final records are created only after review.
Reviewing trips
Open Trips to classify new records, correct addresses, adjust mileage, and add purpose notes. Personal trips show an estimated value for reference only; business trips show the deduction value.
Review reminders should clear once every pending trip has been classified or dismissed.
Reports and exports
Build a report from selected trips, then export CSV, PDF, or XLSX. Review each report before sharing it with an employer, bookkeeper, or tax preparer.
Reports include trip dates, routes, mileage, purpose, vehicle, and the mileage rate used for each included business trip.
Subscription
Trovu Mileage uses one paid plan after the trial. The plan includes automatic trip detection, manual trips, vehicles, report creation, and export formats.
You can manage subscription status from the mobile app account area.
Privacy and location
Mileage tracking depends on location data. Trovu uses location history to create trip records and does not turn personal trips into business claims.
You can pause tracking in app settings. Avoid sharing exported reports until you have reviewed addresses and notes for sensitive information.
Troubleshooting
If automatic tracking does not start, confirm background location permission is enabled, battery optimization is not blocking the app, and notifications are allowed.
If exports or sync fail, check your network connection and try again. If the issue continues, contact support with your device type, app version, and what you expected to happen.
Need a hand?
Send a note with your device type, app version, and what you expected to happen. Screenshots help, but please avoid sharing sensitive addresses when possible.
